Weekly Letter - 31 Mar 2014

Dear Presidente,
The weather here in Bariloche is changing but I love it. I dont know how it is in Neuquen but today there is overcast and rain here in the Promised land. It is reminding me to my home in Seattle and Im pumped. I want to go knock some doors in the rain! So this past week was good. The district is good. We had a good reunion about our purpose here in Bariloche. It seems like everyone has heard bad things about this zone....BUT! we are going to change that. I love Elder Gonzalez. He has brought a fire and desire for the work that gets me excited. I feel like a got my football pads on again and Im ready to run through the tunnel. Its game
time here in Bariloche! The hermanas of centro c still dont have any plates or things to cook but hopefully there box came here today. The other sisters are doing good. We all looking for miracles. Im trying to help the district raise there vision. Our are here in Dina Huapi is seeing some good things. A less active family told us that a family may be interested in talking with us about the church. It is a family of 4 and would be a huge miracle! Things with my comp and I are going well. Its funny how with my comps I notice more of my own faults. We are trying to see miracles and Im trying to bring animo to our compeñerismo. Im trying to be a comp that can help my compeñero lograr sus metas. As for me, Im doing good. A few weeks ago when i completed 1 year, my mom wrote me and said ̈its only have half time and there are more touchdowns to be scored ̈That really got me excited. There is still more game to be played. In my studies i have noticed that just about all of Gods promises end with the opportunity to gain eternal life. Not going to lie, at some points I have thought ̈thats great but its the same promise agian and again ̈. Yesterday I thought about this and I was like how stupid of me for thinking that...I should repent jaja. But, what I realized something that I already knew, eternal life is the greatest thing that we could ever receive. We are teaching, baptizing, and activating families so that they can gain eternal life. Everything is to get eternal life. Also, if we are on track to receive eternal life, we are going to be happy now and get a whole bunch of other promises

and bendiciones. I know this church is true! I know there is a plan. There are milagros here and en camino. Thank you so much for everything you do. Im looking forward to come to Neuquen for the Capacitacion. If you have some free time I would really appreciate if I could talk with you real brief. Thanks again.

Dear Family,

I am so pumped for this coming weekend. it is the superbowl for the missionaries.....thats right baby, its GENERAL CONFERENCE time!!!! So some funny things that have happened this week. My comp and i were waiting for the bus and some guy pulled over and drove us to Bariloche...so like 15 or 20 min. I got to talk to a guy in english from texas haha. Oh and funny story- we met this kid of like 16 years old who was kinda rude with us but its was all good. So we were at the bus stop and my comp heard him say to his friends that he was all taugh with us and had us running for the hills. I handed my bag to my comp and only said hold this and walked over to the guy. I went right up to him in front of his friends and said ¨hey hows it going. all is well. remember me, i passed by your house and you said we could come back another day a talk a little? hows school going?¨ He was shocked and was NOT mr tuff guy like he said to his friends. He said we could pass by another day but it was the funniest thing ever. My comp was like holy moley. In the church we had a competition of cakes. the yellow cake in the pic is mine. Youll get a kick out of this.....I made a cake of the gold plates jajaja. I had a lot of help from a sister in the church but yall wont beleive this....my cake won jaja. oh, and one lady did a cake that lookes liked a flower pot...it was CAKE BOSS legit. So general conf is this weekend and i want to invite all of you to watch it with a question in mind or many questions on paper. I know we are going to hear great things from men inspired from God. So talking about Gen Con, about 6 months ago I told you all about how i listend to a lot of it in spanish and could understand it all. Well, shortly after i heard a few of the talks in english and learned that i did not understand it all jaja. Especailly now that my spanish is flowing like crazy and i can understand so much more. But its a funny example of how sometimes we think we know it all. we think that we know how things are or how things should be when we dont. just like when laman and lemuel didnt understand the dream of there father lehi and when nefi asked them if they had prayed they said no because God does not talk with them. Another example is the wife of Lehi when she was sad because she thought her children had died in the wilderness. She thought she knew what happened but it wasnt what she thought. Its just another example of Heavenly Father knows better than we do. We will be happier and life will be less stressful if we except His plans and dont fight it. I love you all so much and hope that you have a great week.

Con amor

Weekly Letter - 24 Mar 2014

Dear Presidente,
Things are looking good here in Dina. It ́s a new transfer and time for some more changes as well as miracles. Every companionship has a change with exception to Elder Laguado and I. I am kind of sad that so many are leaving the district. I really have loved having every one of the Hnas in the district and its going to see be hard to see Hna Lopez without Hna Harkness or Medero without Santiago and Andrus without Perez. I guess its just one of those examples that life is always changing and we really need to enjoy every moment or it will just pass us by. These Hnas have strengthened my testimony and love for others. Everyone of them is truely great. Thank you for the chance to be here at this time. Elder Laguado and I are doing good. This transfer should be interesting because E Laguado has never been with a companion for mas than one transfer. The mission is all about new things. Our area is good. We are still teaching a lady named Malen and she is a tough one. Still doesnt believe in God but is reading the Book Of Mormon. But I have faith that if she keeps on reading all will work out. Its like the story of Elder Yañez. He didnt believe in God but started to read the Book of Mormon and look where he ́s at now! Poco por poco we are getting more help from the members. Slow and steady wins the race. As for me, I ́m doing good. Like I said, I ́m going to miss the Hnas
Perez, Harkness, and Santiago (also Elder Randall). But all will be well. Another thing I ́ve working on is to look for more of the little miracles and trust in God. Dina Huapi isnt the biggest area but I know we are here for a purpose. Last night before we went to the house we knocked one more door. Before we knocked I thought to myself, ̈We have faith, we have confidence, and we have the Holy Spirit ̈. I kept saying this over and over and asked
Heavenly Father for help to put a cita with this family. And when we knocked a lady came out and said we could pass by martes to show something with the family. I was thinking HOLY MILAGROS!!!!! When we ask we really do receive! Basically, I ́m loving it, I ́m pumped, and
I ́m ready to see great things! Have a great week and thank you so much for everything.

hey

dear family,
how is everything going in the land of things that are cool. this letter will be kinda short but im sorry for that. so this week was transfers and im staying here for at least 6 weeks more but a lot of people from my district leaves to new places today. its kind of sad bc i really learned to love every one of them and to see them go after just one transfer togehter kind of sucks but its all good. Dina Huapi is a really a small area but i know Heavenl Father has a plan so im keeping the faith strong. the other day we my comp and i were walking to house because it was the end of the day and we decided to pass by for one more house. as we walked up to the door i thought to myself, WE HAVE FAITH, WE HAVE CONFIDENCE, WE HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT. and I said a little prayer that we could find a family. right after we knocked a lady left the front door and told us we could come back and share a message with them. I know it doesnt seem like a parting the red sea but not all miracles need to be like that. I am so gratefull for all the little blessing that Im seeing here in this area and truely am grateful for the people here. There might not be a lot but i still love them. if things get tough of you need a little bit of strenght give your self a little pep talk and all will be well. i know these things are true and am so happy to know it.

Weekly Letter - 17 Mar 2014

Dear Presidente Lovell,
The mission is flying by! This past week was good. As a district we had a lot of miracles happen but we also had some challenges. Alto 1 had 2 of their fechas caer because they
didnt go to church and the same thing happened with Centro. Even though they wont be baptized this transfer I think within about 2 weeks they will be baptized. Sometimes we receive tests to learn a few knew things but doesnt mean there arent more miracles. My goal for the district this week is find the way to animate them to end the week with hard work. Elder Laguado and I are doing great. We are teaching a girl named Malen that doesnt believe in God. But, she ́s reading the Book of Mormon and is really listening to what we are saying. She has sent us texts with great questions like, ̈what is the doctrina del evangelio ̈ and more. Elder Laguado and I, as a companionship, are also doing good. We are trying to keep the faith strong as well as keep our relationship strong. As for me, I have been thinking about the things I want to complete here in Dina Huapi and I really believe that it is all possible. Dina Huapi is one of the most beautiful places in the mission and filled with miracles, big and small. Its like the scripture that says small and weak things will become big and strong. Thanks for
everything you do for us. Have a great week!

HEY

Dear family,

so i found a button with a bunch of faces that i never new about in goole but you already know that im going to be using this a whole lot more333.png. Man thses little faces crack me up. But this week was really good. My district got to do a talent show in the ward and we did some super funny stuff. the elders gave the class of the relief society and the sisters gave the class for elders qourum. it was ESUPER funny. we also did a thing (us 4 elders. my comp, me, and zone liders) where we put our arms behind the backs of one another to make it look like midgets. I dont know how to explian but its also was pretty darn funny. so in my studies I came across a scripture in 1 tesalonicenses that talks about giving thanks for all we have and being grateful. i cant remember the verse or chapter but ill let you know when i know. but that is one of the things great about like....no matter what is going on, there is always something we can be grateful for. Right now my comp and I are teaching a lady who doesnt believe in God but she really listens and asks great questions. the book of mormon is vital in helping her feel the spirit so that she can know God does exist. its hard to imagen a life without knowledge of God. things would be so much harder. i am grateful for this church and the book of mormon. On thursday i completed my goal and finished the whole book of mormon in spanish. i was to pumped B5E.gif. I started when i came here to argentina. I know that this message is true and I know that God exists. I know that all families can live together with their families forever.

Weekly Letter - 10 Mar 2014

Dear Presidente,
I hope everything is well with your health. I heard we wont have intrevistas this week but its all good. This past week was great. As a district we fasted and saw a lot of miracles! It is great to hear some of the hnas talk because they are pumped for some baptisms that are coming up. We are really seeing great things togehter as a district and it only makes my testimony stronger of the miracles that Heavenly Father has planned for all of the missionaries in this mission. In Dina Huapi things are going great. We are getting more help from the members and finding great people. Last night we had a lesson with Marcelo, recient convert, and a friend of his, Monica. Monica has a son who is a returned missionary but she is not a member. The spirit was present in the lesson which was great. I love it when the spirit is present! Elder Laguado and I are doing great. We are working together and seeing great things. This past week we were able to talk a little more openly with one another which really helped our relationship. As for me I doing well. Im trying to put it all on the altar but there is still room for improvement. As Elder Laguado and I had a conversation something came to my mind that I had never really thought about. I always thought to be a great missionary and a lider in the mission one has to be perfect. What came to my mind was this. A good missionary does not think himself to be perfect, he reconizes his imperfections so that he can change for the better. Its like the deffinition of repentance, to give something for something better. It doesnt mean we shouldnt strive to be like Jesus Christ it just means no one is perfect. It was really cool when that came to my mind. The mission is so great and filled with things to learn. These last two weeks of this transfer are going to be two GREAT weeks filled with miracles for Bariloche and La mision Neuquen! Have and great week. Thanks for all that you do.

1 YEAR!!!!!!

dear family,

I cant believe that im about to complete 1 year this week!!! I dont know what Im going to do to celebrate....probably invite some people to come unto Christ!!! Its crazy how fast time flies! Something really cool is im about to finish the book of mormon in spanish. im at the end of ether and my goal it to finish by thursday my 1 year mark so i can start over :) :) :) The pic below is from pday last week. we went to a pizza place where its buy one pizza per person and after all the pizzas are free. I ate two pizzas by myself. I went beast mode on those pizzas and the ladys at the pizza place were not happy that we ate a ton. No lie I was so filled up with pizza i felt like pizza sauce was running through my veines. It was the closest i will ever get know what it fills like to have a baby in my stomach. somehting really good is that the do pizzas here with eggs one top...dont knock it until you try it. This week in my area was sweeeet! We did a fast as a district and saw some crazy miracles. One hour before we were about to end our fast my comp and i knocked a door and the family said ¨come in¨ (but of course they said it in spanish hahaha). We taught all 3 of them and it was so great. And just so yall know, the area im in right now, the people dont just invite us in there houses every day. the people are really nice but dont let us teach them. it was a great miracle. Later, on sunday we had a miracle lesson with a lady who is not a member but her son just got home from serving a mission in colombia. after the lesson I felt like I wanted to kick a tree I was s pumped. that lesson was the last lesson of the week. If you didnt notice already, all of our miracles happened and the very last moment. Heavenly Father wanted to see our faith first and then gave us blessing. this morning i read Ether 12 that talks a lot about faith. If yall get the chance i would highly recomend yall read that chapter...its awesome. Faith can do so many great things! I feel like an old missionary right now that im on the downward slop of the mountain of time but its all good because there are still so many things to learn. Never forget that there are mircales everyday. Love you all like crazy fries love to be dipped in a chocolate shake:) Have a great week. THE CHURCH IS TRUE XD

Weekly Letter - 03 Mar 2014

Dear Presidente Lovell,
Dina Huapi is on the up and up. This week had the help of one the members named Hno Gonzalez. It was a blessing because he took the collectivo to come here and help us a little. Something that I found out was that a less active hna in our area hasnt been to church in 10 years and came to church not this passed sunday but one more before. I got so pumped when I heard that! Right now we are teaching the family Mardones that is a part member less active family. the parents have been less active for about 18 years and are attending the iglesia evengelica. i dont remember if I mentioned them. They are a great family and every time we pass by, the kids of the family are showing more and more interest. One of the daughters said, concerning Joseph Smith, that if this is really true the whole world needs to know. Hopefully the spirit can soften the hearts of the family more so that they can except everything. Elder Laguado and I are doing good. Last night we put our metas for April and seeing some of our goals really got me excited. I wanted to get out of the house and get to work. I know that miracles are coming here! The district is doing well. The hnas of Alto 1 had a great week as far as numbers and miracles. Centro is doing good and Centro C is working hard and finding people. Something that really caught me by surprised was the hnas from centro c. When they first put their metas their anitial goal was 2 fechas for all of abril. I was a little stunned by that. I told them that I had faith that miracles are coming for them and that than can get more. So they decided to put 4 instead of 2. One of the things Hna Lopez told me was thank you for having faith in us. That really hit me in my heart. I learned something from that....everyone needs to at least have one person that has faith in them. Its like a high school football team that always loses; they always lose because thats what is expected from them and thats what their used to. Vice versa with a team that always wins; they win because that is what is expected and what their used to. A coach that expects greatness from his players receives greatness from his players. A coach that has faith in his players sees miracles. I dont know if any of that made sense but in my head it did. I ́m learning more how to serve my district better. I truely am greatful to be here in Dina Huapi. Thank you for everything. Have a great week.

Hey family,

so this past week for p day we clibmed a mountain! here are a whole bunch of pic from one of the most beautiful views on earth! Things are going great here in Dina Huapi and im learning some great things. one miracles that happened this past week was that we met a girl named Irene. her mom who isnt a member gave her a book of mormon about 15 years ago. we not on her door and she invited us to come in and talk to her family. It was crazy awesome. she told us that she believes the the book of mormon is the word of God. I was sitting there like when are the cameras going to come out and where the heck is ashton kutcher ( haha punked). But it was all real. There are so many miracles it is impossible to count them all. Sorry for writing so little but i love you all. This church is the true church of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ! Have a great week and work hard, because miracles are on there way. Oh and the guy in the pic is my comp Elder Laguado from Colombia and the sisters are all in my district.
