The time has come and I cant believe it has gone by so fast. I have been a missionary oficially 2 years and 2 weeks and I am in my last week of my mission. I can still remember my first days in the MTC and in the mission field. I have met so many great people and had so many great experiences. Heavenly Father has opened my to many great things in the gospel and for that, I will always be greatful.
This past week went by fast and my comp and I had some great experiences. There is a new video of the church called Gracias A Que El Vive (I have no idea what its called in English). It is about Jesus Christ and how we can draw closer to Him whenever and wherever. After my comp and I saw that video our Mission Pres, Pres Lovell, invited us all in the mission to help others pray to know that Jesus Christ lives. After receiving that invitation it as if the soluction to everyones problem with whom we spoke was to pray to know if Jesus Christ lives. We talked with a taxi driver while we were in his taxi and we got to one point in the conversation when he asked us how to repent of his sins and how can he know if he was forgiven. We were able to tell him and testify of our Savior Jesus Christ. Later, we talked with a lady who has been less active for about 20 years. She told us that she has never felt that God exists because she has never felt Him in her life. It was amazing how the Lord prepares the people because after she told her that we testified of our Savior and that He lives which may or may not have solved all her questions or problems but she did invite to come back (we had knocked doors and thats how we found her....miracles!!!). Great things have happened.
Elder Candia and I this week went knocking doors looking for people to teach and knocked a house and a lady came out. The lady told us that she was less active and was a member of the church for many years before she stopped going. I dont know we said but I do know that the Lord prepared her heart but the result was that she invited us to come back. When we came back she accepted the invitation to come to church this coming week with her kids and her kids accepted the invitation to be baptized. We gave a book of Mormon to the oldest daughter, Marilin (13 years old), and she had it in her hands she thanked. Before we left she was hugging the book of Mormon and she told us that she was going to read all of it. It is a powerful image that I will always have in my mind.
I have thought a lot about what to say in this last letter and what came to my mind was a phrase that my first companion and trainer in atlanta wrote in his last letter: DONE. BUT NEVER FINISHED. I my be ending my time a full time missionary here in Argentina but I will never be done being a missionary. I love this work to work much to ever stop. These two years have marked me in a way that only my Father in Heaven and Savior will ever be able to understand. Many people have asked me what I have learned in these past two years....My answer: What havent I learned in these past two years.
I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I have felt its power in my own life. It has lifted me up when I was down and has given me the faith to keep going. I have seen it change my life and many others. The Book of Mormon is the most correct book that there is on this earth and with bring any person closer to God than any other book. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I testify that he saw God the eternal Father and His son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.
I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that He is my Savior and I love Him so very much. I know that He died for the sins of the world and rose from the dead on the third day. He love us all so greatly. I have felt His love. I know others can feel the same. We are all missiories of our Savior. This is His work and it is perfect just like Him.
I love you all so much!
Con Amor,
