Weekly Letter - 24 Feb 2014

Dear Presidente Lovell,
This was another great week! I loved the talks by Ballard y Rasband. As I sat and listened I felt peace from the spirit. One of the things that were said that really caught my attention was the stroy of Pres. Woodruffs deam about not having enough time. I keep thinking about that in the streets. I know that the work of the Lord is becoming even faster and Im so excited. I know that with the help of Heavenly Father we can all prepare ourselves for great miracles. Speaking of miracles, we found a couple named Matias and Julieta. They are both Catholic
but dont really go to church or believe in church; they have seen a lot of bad examples of pastores that do bad things. But, we were able to share a little with them and they both excepted fechas. It was so great. The district is doing really well. Centro C is really working hard and finding a lot of people. I think real soon a lot of things are going to go up for them. But everyone is doing good. I ́m really trying to help everyone see that there really are miracles all around us. Elder Laguado and I are doing great. We are finding a lot of people and laughing a lot together which is good. He is always ready to go out and look for some miracles which fun because we both are excited. I ́m excited to see what we can complete with our time together. As for me, it is really interesting to be here in Bariloche because I have talked to a few people from the United States which makes me laugh jaja. Great things are coming and I ́m trying to be close to Heavely Father so I can do my part. Like Elder Ballard said...pray to change someones life. Thank you so much for the spirit and excitement you and Hna Lovell bring to the mission. Have a great week.

Dear Familia,
i put a whole bunch of pics for yall to see. one is out in the street we saw a car train thing. onother is we ate hamburgers outside from some guy that makes them. one is me in the city. the other is me infront of the building we live in with the sky really cool. and one or two is from our area looking at the water and bariloche because we live and work like 20 min outside the city. so this week was awesome I had the chane to see a talk from Elder ballard from a satilite transmission for south america. he said so many great things and i could really feel the spirit. one of the stroies he told was of a dream pres wildrid wooldruff had. in his dream he saw joseph smith and another apostles that had died pass by him in a hurry without saying hi. then Joseph smith came back and asked him what he needed. Pres woodruff siad he wanted to know why everyoe was in  such a hurry. Joseph said that every dispensacion on earht that has passed had sufficient time to prepare for the coming of Jesus Christ but in this dispensasion there isnt enough time. I have been thinking about that for some time now and cant get it out up my mind. It is really true because we can see the missionary work is truely progressing rapidly. I am having so much fun in my mision it is hard to believe that in one year this will all end. I know that sometimes in our day to day life it is hard to find the time or energy to do evrything and fulfill what Heavenly Father wants of us spiritually. but here is a scripture to the prophet joseph smith. it is in D & C 24: 7-9 i think it starts at 7 or maybe 6 not sure but its all good:) Something that I have learned is about faith. Even the desire to have more faith is sufficient to go forward. When times are rough sing a hymn and all will be well. One day my comp and I were in the streets all day and no one wanted to talk to us. By the end of the day my legs were so tired and I felt like it was the end of two a days for football jaja. But my body didnt have a ton of juice, so I sang a hymn and I literally felt strengh come to my legs. they no longer felt sore and tired as I sang. I know that this church is true and that Heavenly Father loves us and wants to help us. He and Jesus Christ are always there for us and I am so gratefull for that. I love you all so much and have a great week! Go out with faith and when times are rough remember your blessings and sing a hymn.
Love

Weekly Letter - 17 Feb 2014

Dear Presidente Lovell,
Bariloche/Dina Huapi is beautiful!!! It reminds me so much of my home in Seattle. I cant wait to see some good rain. This week was pretty good. It was sad to say bye to some of the families in Neuquen; 3 transfers is the most i have ever been in one area before. But, it was awesome to meet my new district! Its funny that Im in a district filled with Hnas because before transfers I was joking and said I would go as an Hna Lider...casi haha. They are really great. Hna Lopez and Harkness cant leave the pension in the morning because of imigration so that might affect some of their work this coming week. Hna Medero went to go to the doctor today but i think all is well. Hna Andrus and Perez are still having some problems with their bishop but they have seen changes so they know more miracles will happen. Dina Huapi is a great area to be in. We talked with our ward mission leader and we are going to try to have a branch in someones house in Dina Huapi. It wouldnt be its own branch, still part of centro but it would be for the members in Dina. We ́ll see how that goes or if we can even do it. The first thing that came to mind when I found out there are a handfull of members here in Dina was that we need to active all the less actives and baptize more. We saw so many miracles here this week it was great. We found a less active part member family of 18 years. We have come to find our that Marcelo the recent convert knows them from years ago. I see great miracles on the horizan. Elder Laguado and I are doing good. We have had some good opportunities to teach so that we can get a feel for each other. Im doing great. I want to help change Dina Huapi so that one day there can be a capilla here. Ask and we will receive. There are big things coming in this mission! Have a great week and thank you and Hna Lovell.

Bariloche

Dear Family,

So Im here right now in bariloche. for yall that dont know, bariloche is one of the most beautiful places in argentina and the world. it looks a lot like seattle/snowqualomi pass. sorry for the bad spelling. the area im at is named Dina Huapi which is like 20 or 30 min from bariloche in the bus system (like the metro). we dont have a chapel in my area so we go to bariloche. where we are at there ar literally 5 members of the church and only 2 are active bc they just got baptized a few months ago. it nuts. But, I love it! yall got to get on google and look up some pics of this place! The area Im at was just opened a few months ago to the missionaries thats why there arent many members. When i say opened I mean that before there were no misionaries that lived and worked here. Missionaries from other areas would come and work every once in awhile but not a lot. My new comp is from Colombia. my last comp from peru was great. it started off hard because he didnt want to be in the mission and was super lazy! But by the end he learned to enjoy the mission and work hard. it was great to see the change in him and the change in myself. He taught me so many things and helped me progress. My first week here in dina huapi was good. it is a little different here bc there arent so many members but that just means we need to work harder so more members of the church can be here. I love this work so much. It has blessed my life in so many ways. Oh and when I came to my new house it was a mess. there was literally 6 differents bowls or tupperware that had mold in them. i was straight up like you got to be freakin kidding me! But thats the mission. Ill be sure to talk a lot of photos while Im here because it literally will rock your socks off. Oh, and about 30 min ago i talked to a guy in english from holland and taught him about the church. it was really weird to teach in english....it was mor like spanglish haha. I love you all and have a great week. Great things are going to happen this week. Lets have faith and do what our Heavenly Father wants and all will be good.....AND THATS A PROMISE FROM YOUR UNCLE STAN!!!! haha the movie stealling harvard...good stuff. but really hay miracles! here is a photo i snapped real quick when i first came here.

Love Elder Nobmann to the red rad Riddle....i got that song by the sugger hill gang stuck in my head....i said a hip hop to the hippie to the hip hip hop....

oh the other pic is from zone activity a couple weeks ago....that right...im rockin the new futures XD

Weekly Letter - 10 Feb 2014

Dear Presidente,
Thank you for coming to the baptisms that we had this past Saturday. The people in the barrio were really happy and felt special that you all came to see the baptisms. I am going to miss these people a lot. I feel like a lot of these people are part of my family. The baptism with Aldana was a miracle. After her baptism she was like a diferent person. She looked different in her eyes. It just goes to show the power of the gospel. This area has seen so many miracles these past few transfers and is going to continue to see more. I am pumped for Elder Uceda because this traslado I have seen him change so much. He is ready for more responsibilidad. I have faith that he is going to do a lot of great things in his mission. He is pumped to see miracles and work hard, which gets me pumped. As for me I ́m doing pretty good. The mission just keeps getting better and better...I love the mission!! I ́m going to miss Elder Ottenbacher, Yandle, and Uceda but I guess thats a good thing. I was truely blessed to serve with great Elderes. Its time to see some more miracls in my new area that i still dont know how to spell. Have a great week and thank you so much for everything.

Jack Wagon!

Hey Familia,

Mom i have not yet goettn my package for christmas. dont freak out...it could come any week. the mail system here has been having some problems. But, this week was pretty darn sweet. We had two baptisms. the two girls sofia and agustina were baptised. my comp got to baptise one of them and a member baptizd the other. it was freakin awesome. oh side not....so the seachikins are in the super bowl! im so pumped right now i could punch a tree! Russ wilson baby! Marshawn Beast mode madness. But yea, the baptism was awesome but it gave me the most stess in my life because we forgot the baptism clothes in the house of the other eldres and had to wait an hour to get the clothes. the sister missionaries went to their house and and looked for white clothes they had to use. We were going to use those cloths and the girls had them on and as they walk to the font to be baptised the elderes ran through the door and gave us the clothes. talk about clutch moment! it was like soemthng out of a movie. When you see the pics youll see they have weird clothes to be baptized in because we took pics before the baptism. hahaha. oh how i love mission life. in the words of Forest Gump ¨LIFE IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES....YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOOU GONE GET´. its so true, you never know when your going to have to wait an hour for baptism clothes and almost loss two baptisms the day of the baptisms hahaha. Oh so soemthing crazy happened this week. my comp and i were walking in the night to a members house to ask him soemthing, and i said hi to a person. when i said hi to him i felt so strange. this person literally is the latin micheal j foxx but thats not why i felt weird. so we started walking and i felt soemthign tell me to look behind me and i looked and saw that he was following us. It was the spirit! After i felt we needed to get out of his sight. so i told my comp we would turn at this street corner normal. So we turned the corner and i told him we needed to run so we ran to the members house and everything was ok. The spirit is real! I testify and know that he is watching out for me and all of the missionaries out there in the world. THE CHURCH IS TRUE!!! I LOVE IT!!!!
have a great week yall. if yall get the chance read D and C 9 it is really good. Especailly note verse 3. We dont always understand why certain things happen but God knows better than us :)

ps Mom, i hope the story about micheal ja fox´s latin twin didnt freak you out:)

what up

Querido queridos,

Hows life doing in the US? thing down here are like teriaky sauce....sweet!!!! so this past week we had another baptism with Aldana Sandoval! we have literally taught her for about 4 months and she never wanted to gt baptised because she has some bad experiences with the bapttism interview. but this is the mircale. about 3 months ago my comp and i fasted to have a baptism with aldana. when we started the fast i felt that she was going to be baptized. that week she wasnt baptized but 3 months later she was. it is a great example of that sometime we receive answers for things that will come a little later. its like the scripture ive shared in Enos 1: 15 and 16, when we ask for things in the name of christ we will receive them in Gods time frame. we just got to except his will because he knows best. For example, yea my comp and i could have had a baptsm with aldana 3 months ago and it would have been cool. but because it was 3 months of waiting i really learned to love her family and help them out more. also she was baptized with 3 other people. my district had 4 baptism this past week and the pres of the mission came to watch. so for waiting a little longer greater things came from it. thats what happens in our lives. sometimes we want things now but God knows that if we wait just a little longer it will be so much greater. that it why we pray and fast to know and except the will of our Heavenly Father. other news is that im transfered to a new area in bariloche which is in the mountains and i one of the most beautiful places in argentina....so ive heard. so that will be cool. i leave for there tonight. oh and im a district leader now which is cool. here are some fun pics of my district now (the one im in now not my new one) and the baptisms. oh and a picture of the family sandoval.

Weekly Letter - 02 Feb 2014

Dear Presidente Lovell,
This week was pretty good. We saw a huge miracle with a girl named Aldana. I dont know if you remember her but you gave her a baptism interview about 6 plus months ago. My whole 4 months and medio she has been against baptism even though she knows that the church is true. She has been afraid of the baptism interview. But, this week, we had a noche de hogar with her family and invited her to be baptized and she said yes. She is going to be baptized this Saturday! Hopefully everything runs smoothly. I remember about 3 months ago Elder Puente, Ashworth and I fasted that Aldana would be baptized. I remember feeling that she would be but it turned out she didnt get baptized win the time I wanted. I have learned something very important; things happen in the time frame of Heavenly Father and not in I want or think is the best. Also, this Saturday, if everything runs smoothly, Villa Ceferino will be having 4 baptisms: One from us, Aldana, two from the hnas, Gabriel and Abril, and one from the other Elderes, Abril. We put a goal to have 6 baptisms as a district this transfer and if Adana, Gabriel, Abril, and Abril can make it through, which i know they will, we will have had 7 baptisms as a district this transfer. Not going to lie, Elder Ottenbacher is probably the funniest man alive but is a great leader. This transfer has been great and we want to finish it off strong. Throw in Villa Ceferino this week in one of your prayers if you can so that this week goes well. Elder Uceda and I are doing good. We had a lot of opportunities to do exchanges with some members this week so it was good practice for him to take control of the lessions. I ́m doing great! I ́m loving life daily and am pumped for this saturday. Thanks for everything. Have great week.
