Good ol' Faith

Dear Family,

The work is going great! This past week has been so darn busy but I love it! It is still really hot here but I like it. Im sweaty just about every min of the day but its a blessing in disguise; it is going to help me lose some weight jaja.

So this week Elder Parke and I did a service project for a member of the church here. we had to move a pile of sand to the back of his house. Then we had to move 50 kilo, which is over 100 pounds, bags of concrete to the back of his house. It was so much fun. I was power cleaning them bags onto my shoulders. It was like being in the gym again jaja. Yall can already imagen that with the heat I was sweating like crazy. Im still a little sore but jaja. Elder Parke and I have been focusing a lot on serving others and we are noticing the difference for doing it. Service brings miracles.

We had a miracle this past week. One of our investigatores, Miguel, was going to come to church this past week but when a member passed by for his house to take him, he was still asleep. But the miracle is that another member, a childhood friend of Miguel, had just come back from living in Peru and heard that Miguel was listening to the missionaries. So he passed by the house of Miguel and woke him up and brought him to church without out us even telling the member to do that. In fact, I had never even met this member becuase he got here this week from Peru. It was amazing. Not only that, but Miguel was so happy that to be at church. As a sister started to play the prelude music as we started Sacrament Meeting I was so grateful for the help of my Heavnely Father and the miracle that had just happened that I had peaceful feeling and held back the tears.

There was one point when we didnt think Miguel was going to come to the church. I was sitting in one of the classes before sacrament meeting (because in this ward we do the classes first) thinking, ¨should i give up home?¨ , ¨should i accept that he is not going to come?¨ and then a quick response came to my mind ¨NO! Keep your faith strong¨. And after that still didnt know what was going to happen but I had faith that a miracle was going to happen. Then out of no where shows up Miguel! Heavenly Father always has a plan but tests our faith so that we can grow.

I hope you all have a great week. Les quiero mucho!

Dear Presidente,
This has been a great week! The miracles just keep piling on. The zone is working hard and we are talking a lot about the consecration. I love this whole tema about the consecration. Elder Parke and I have been talking a lot about how we can consecrate ourselves and help our district lideres do the same so that they can help their districts do the same. Elder Gomez and Ashworth are doing a great job over here. The area of Elder Parke and I is being prepared by the spirit. We are finding people that have desires to change their lives and like I mentioned last week, the people are feeling and recognizing the Holy Spirit. We had a miracle with one of our inv named Miguel. Miguel went to church last week and we had planned for him to come this week too. We had set everything up so that a member would pass by and take him to church. But what happened was he se quedó sleeping and didnt come. It was a little disappointing. Just as we were about to start Sacrament Meeting in walks in Miguel. It was a miracle. What had happened is a member, return missionary, went by his house and woke him up saying ̈you got to come to church ̈; they are childhood friends. It was the first time we had ever met this member because he had been living in Peru but had just come back to live here this week. While in Peru he heard that Miguel was listening to the missionaries and the first thing he did when he got back to Plaza Huincul is go see him. It was a miracle!! Elder Parke and I are doing great. The days are passing by to fast and we are having fun teaching the people. We are working hard on consecrating ourselves and are seeing the blessing for doing so. As for me, Im doing great! Im so happy to be here in the mission. I am thankful for the miracles, big and small, that are happening. The spirit is real and he is guiding us more than ever and we are trying to consecrate ourselves. There is such a gran difference. This past sunday as I sat in principios del evangelio and miguel still hadnt shown up at church the thought came to my mind, I can give up home that Miguel will come to church or just keep on believe. I decided to keep on believing. So when I saw Miguel walk in all I was amazed at how gran was that miracle. This is the true church and miracles do exist. Thank you for everything. Have a great week.

what a great week!

Dear familia,

Como han estado? How have yall been? I hope the reply is ¨good¨ jaja. If not, things will get better:)

So we had transfers this past week and  I got my new companion. Elder Agee completed his two years and is at home now. Mom and dad, yall should look him up on facebook. His name is Justin Agee. Hes a stud! jaja My new comps name is Elder Parke from Santa Cruz California. He used to live in Bainbridge, Washington when he was younger which is pretty cool. He has about a little over a year in the mission. Jajaja he makes me feel old in the mission because he still has about a year left and I just have a couple months. But its all good. He is a stud!! He is a swimmer and swam a little in college before coming out on the mission. We have only had one week together but we are working our tails off and seeing a ton miracles. He is a great example of serving the Lord. Just two months ago his dad passed away but he is still here in the mission going strong. And when I say he is going strong its not an exaggeration. He works hard and teaches with the spirit. I fill lucky to have him as a companion and to be able to learn from him. If you want to throw the Parke family in your prayers Im sure they wouldnt mind.

So the mission here in Neuquen is changing a lot. Whoever, all these changes are for the better. Elder Parke and I are teaching a lot of great people and having great experiences. On Saturday we were looking for people to teach and passed by a house and saw some a family digging a whole outside their house and we stopped and helped them. After helping we taught them about Jesus Christ and that becaused he died for us we can all be baptized and be cleansed of our sins. The mom said that it was too good to be true and before invited her and her family to church she asked if they could come to church with us. We were like OF COURSE!! They couldnt make it to church yesterday but it was still a huge miracle and we have an appointment to go back.

Another cool experience was Elder Parke and I passed by for a less active family where the husband of the family is alcoholic and hits his wife. It is a sad situation. But the last few days I have had that family in my mind and wanted to pass by and see how the wife was doing. Last night we were going to go visit a family but desiced to change plans and go see that family. We went to their house with a member, Hno Walter, and the wife came out to talk with us. She didnt want to let us in without her husband being home which we understood. But we talked with her a little outside to see how she was and to let her know we were thinking about her. That little visit outside may not have solved her situation but I could see her face lit up as we talked to her. We all just need to know someone is thinking of us at times.

I love the mission so much! Thank you all for your prayers. I have a little invitation for everyone....if there is someone that has been coming to your mind in the last few days that you feel like you should call or visit, it would be good to follow those promptings. As you do so I promise the results will be worth it :)

Have a great week!

Love

Dear Presidente,
I am just so darn excited to see what this zone can do! We have some good missionaries
here. Everyone is adjusting to the new changes and Elder Parke and I are trying to make it a smooth and good transition. Everyone is focusing more on helping their in investigators get to church which I think is getting to bring great results. Our area is doing great. This past week I cant begin to count how many miracles we saw. We literally taught all day every day. We taught so much. Not only that but the spirit was testifying to the people we were teaching. We also have been finding a lot of people to teach. We are teaching part member families and
new families but what is great is that we are teaching families. I have seen a incredible change in our area this last week. I think its a combination of the changes in the mission, consecration, and going out to work but it is evident more than ever that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are hastening the work! Elder Parke and I are doing great. He has a little over a year in the mission and the first thing I thought was ̈man, Im old in the mission ̈. Time sure does fly. We have only had a week together but I can already see that he is going to help this zone a lot.
He is a great leader and teaches with a lot of love and patience. It is fun to be his companion and feel the spirit together as we teach. As for me, Im doing great. I am so happy to have my new companion and to be part of this zone. I feel so lucky to still have time left in the mission to be able to participate in these new changes. A lot of things are changing; I can see it and feel it. The spirit is guiding us during our days and is testifying in our lessions. I feel that Im loving the people more as Im not focused on numbers. Elder Parke and I were talking yesterday that we feel like missionaries of the Book of Mormon times. We are are using the herramientas that we have learned in the past year or two and going out and teaching by the spirit. I am excited to see what happens in the next few months. Thank you for everything. Have a great week!

So this week was pretty good. im still in the same area and we are fighting stong. we were going to have a baptism this week but the area split and sisters came into the area. My comp and I felt the spirit that we needed to give the family we were teaching to the sisters but its all good because we know we will be blessed becasue we are doing what the spirit told us to do :) Oh i put a pic of the family with whom we passed news years. if you look at the picture the little girl in front threw up two middle fingers....not good but its funny haha. the other pic is some of what we ate that night....so good. So right now it seems like the mission is going by way to fast. today is my 10 month mark and it is crazy. I love the mision so much. I have seen a lot of miracles. This past sunday a family we are teaching came to church and are ready to baptize there 2 daughters. It was such a great mircale becasue the mom is a member but has activated heself after 10 years without the church. I just want yall to know that there are so many miracles. even the test we have are mirclaes beacuse they come from God to help us. Have a great week.

Hey y'all

Dear Family,

The week went by fast and there was a lot to do! We had a meeting with all the zone lideres, then two capcitations for diferent parts of the zone. Not only that but my comp Elder Agee had to get ready to go back to the states because his two years are up. There has been a lot to do but it has been great. We have a lot of changes in the mision and Im so excited.

Something we have been talking is becoming consecrated missionaries. A consecrated missionary leaves it all on the altar and works until the last second. It is a missionary who is always looking for thehelp of the Lord and trying live according to what He wants. It is a missionary who is not obedient because he has to be but because he wants to be. He understands the blessings that cn be recieved and has a desire to do more. There are many good missionaries in the world but less consecrated missionaries. As we consecrate ourselves in the mision we are promised the companionship of the Holy Spirit at all times and in all places. We are able to truely find a greater joy in life and in our work. We will be able to testify with power. We will be protected from harm. We will be able to be intruments in the hands of the Lord. I have been given 2 years to consecrate myself unto the Lord. This not my time, it is His. He is almighty, all knowing, and has a love so great for each and every one of us. As missionaries we can show our love for our Heavenly Father as we enter this path of personal consecration. The world is getting worse and worse. What the Lord needs is not only good missionaries, but missionaries that are consecrated.

Just like the desire that Heavenly Father has to have more consecrated missionaries, he has a great desire to have consecrated children, consecrated members of the church. There is no better time than to start the process of personal purification and santification so that we can become consecrated children of our Father. So that we may be examples of the believers in these last days. May we all strenthen our own lights so that we guide others in the darkness.

I love you all so much. Have a great week.

Dear Presidente Lovell,
This week just flew right on by. I cant believe that Elder Agee is on his way home right now. I am very greatful for my time with him and Im going to miss him. The zone is doing great. We had two baptisms this past week. One in Rincon and one in Aeropuerto. Elder Justiniano and Bezerra lograron the standard which is great. This is an exciting time for the zone seeing that we have a lot of changes and have to depend on the Lord more than even. I think we are going to be able to do well in our zone with these changes. Im not 100 percent sure what is going to happen but Im excited to get to talking with Elder Parke. This next few months are going to be fun. Our area is doing amazing. Our recent converts, Miriam and Kevin are reading the Book of Mormon everyday and going to all of the activities. They are a couple of capos! Elder Agee and I had a good few months together and Im excited to keep the work going to make him proud. As for me, Im very happy. I learned so many things from Elder Agee. I feel that Im better prepared for these changes for having him as a companion. I want to be a consegracrated misionary. I want to get to that point and help those around me to do the same. I want to do the Lords will and Im thinking of things that I can do better to get there. I have already seen little miracles for the little changes I have made and it makes me so much excited to keep on with this consecration. Thank you for everything. The mission is taking off just like you said. Have a great week.

2015

Hey Family,

First off, happy new years!!! lets goooo 2015.

This past week was great! Miriam and Kevin, two of our investigadores got baptized this past week. This little family is amazing. Miriam has had a great change in her life and not only that but Kevin is already sharing the gospel with his friends and family that arent members...he is only 9. We have been teaching them for about a month now and I have never seen a family so prepared to receive the gospel. Im so pumped for them right now. the next step is the temple :)

Im doing great here in my area. We have one week left in this transfer and then my comp Elder Agee ends the mission and goes back home to virginia. So i should be in this are another month and a half which is all fine and dandy with me. I love this area! Time is flying by way to fast but I had some cool experiences this past week. There is no time to explain but basically I just want to let yall know the power of the Book of Mormon. It is a true book from God. It has power. The pfophets have testified that if we want more blessings and happiness in our life, we will make the affert to read the Book of Mormon every day. I can testify that this is true. I love the Book of Mormon.

Today i read Helaman 3 and there was a couple of things that stuck out to me. One thing was that it said in verse 20 that Helaman was righteous so he prospered in the land. It is so true. If we want to prosper in the land we need to be righteous in all things. It is the key to success.

Well, I love you all so much. Dont forget that Heavenly Father loves you all too. Have a great week.

Dear Presidente,
This week was great! It was filled with miracles and fun times. The zone is doing great. These past couple weeks have made it a little different with all the fiestas but the zone has done a great job at getting focused when its time to get down to work. Just about every companionship in the zone has a fecha. My area is doing more than great. I believe I mentioned it in the past but we are helping the Pres of the elderes quarum and we are seeing a big difference in him and in his quarum. Not only that, but the Bishop is excited and has a lot of great ideas. Things are on the role here. It doesnt stop there. I dont know why but Heavenly Father is blessing us with the chance to find and teach great people. There are so many people here that are prepared to hear the gospel. Elder Agee and I are doing good. Its hard to believe that these 3 months have already flown by. I still remember when Elder Agee and I got here from Atlanta together and now he is on his way home. I am excited for this last week we have together. He has worked hard in this zone. He ́s a stud. As for me, I am doing great. I am finding an even great love for the Book of Mormon. I love the spirit that I can feel as I do my studies. I had a cool experience this past week. I try to read the Book of Mormon everyday in my studies and last week on lunes I wasnt able to read any. I felt horrible the whole day and didnt know why. Then we went to a cita that we had. Aswe taught a scripture came to my mind so I reached down for my Book of Mormon. When I only tauched it I could start to feel the spirit. Then, as our in investigador read a verse in Alma I felt a peace that I was missing all day. I said to myself ̈hay esta, eso es lo que necesitaba ̈. I found what was missing, and it was the Book of Mormon in my day. I testify that the Book of Mormon is a true book. I know it and I love it. Readying the BOM daily is a habit I never want to lose. It literally is armadura. How how preciosas son las cosas que se aprenden en la mision. Thank you for everything. Have a great week.
